Baby Journal Template
The milestones are worth writing down. So are the small things.
Baby books track firsts. This template tracks the texture of everyday life with a small person, which is the part that disappears fastest.
What you'll be asked
Something they did that I want to remember
Not a milestone. The funny, ordinary, impossible-to-explain thing.
How old are they, and what stage are we in?
Brief context. Future-you will want the anchor.
What I'm feeling about this phase
The honest version. Parenthood contains things that are hard to say out loud.
Something they said
Kids say things that adults forget. Write it down today.
A sample story

Something they did that I want to remember
She lined up all her stuffed animals in front of her toy kitchen and told them dinner was 'in a minute, I'm cooking'. Then she stood there stirring an empty pot, completely serious, for about three minutes. I didn't say anything. I didn't want to break whatever was happening.
Why it works
The early years pass fast enough that most parents find they've forgotten most of it by the time the child is five. This template is low-pressure and specific enough to make writing feel possible even on a hard day.
